Miss Universe Bahamas Pageant

So I know I am super late! Please forgive me... it's been a crazy few months.

This past September I was a contestant (Miss Long Island) in the Miss Universe Bahamas 2013 Pageant. It was such a life-changing experience; I made life long friendships which I am so grateful for. The highlight of the entire experience was the enrichment program that was provided from the Miss Bahamas Organization.

Dr. Myles Munroe gave an inspiring address on finding our purpose in life and encouraged us to follow our passions. I learned how truly important it is to always remain who God made me and to share my passion with others. This may have been my favorite part of the entire experience because it really touched my heart.

Ms. Michelle Malcolm taught us the importance of having a mission statement to live by. Let me tell you it's tricky business. I'm still trying to shorten my own to the appropriate length, it's tough when you want to save the world! Beverley Saunders (what an amazing woman!) came and made us all understand how important inner-beauty is and encouraged us all to make the most out of the experience, there can only be one winner.

Jerome Sawyer - Chief Cook & Bottle Washer his unofficial title - spoke to us on giving a good interview. I think I laughed during his entire address, I love his sense of humor. He really knows how to stay engaging while getting his point across.

Other speakers included Lisa McCartney, Bianca Carter, Michelle Collie and a few others. I am grateful for the experience but I am also ready to move on with my life and apply all of the knowledge that I have gained!

 - I placed 2nd Runner-Up and received multiple awards including: Miss Congeniality, The Spirit Award and The People's Choice Award.

I just wanted to share some photos from my pageant journey with everyone. I hope you enjoy!
